A Chicago girl through and through – Gina Trimarco has traded the windy city for the ocean breezes of the South Carolina coast. Gina relocated to Myrtle Beach for a job with IMAX Theatre two and a half years ago and found that the 65 mile stretch of beach the locals fondly refer to as the Grand Strand, was missing something. Something that she simply could not see herself going on in life without. Yes, you guessed it. Improv. Improv Comedy. Improv Theatre.
Fast forward to the present – Gina is no longer with IMAX theatre but the founder of Carolina Improv Company and is responsible for bringing to the beach it’s very first Improv Comedy Theatre, Uptown. Improv is all about saying YES. Saying YES to life, to opportunities that present themselves in front of you, to your partners on and off the stage and most importantly, to yourself. Gina is always on the go – whether it is hosting a show at Uptown, advocating for the arts, volunteering at a fundrasier or simply enjoying a glass of chardonnay with her friends and life partner, Ted(dy Bear). Putting her best face forward is a must and she took some time to share her thoughts on beauty with us. (which makes us feel special!!)
What does beauty mean to you?
Beauty to me is being real and genuine and appreciating others for their own unique beauty. It’s your positive inner soul that projects out and illuminates others.
What makes your feel beautiful inside and out?
Internally, I feel beautiful when I’m able to have a positive impact on others for the sole goal of helping them in some way.
Externally, I feel beautiful when I’m at my physical healthiness.
What do you do if you are not feeling so beautiful to remind you that you are?
Pamper myself with a massage, manicure, pedicure and bright red lipstick.
Do you have any secret beauty tips that you would like to share?
No big secrets. I prefer my make-up to be minimal and not overdone. My hair tends to frizz because it’s curly – when I’m not in a hurry, I let my hair air dry to limit the frizz.
Thanks G! (that is what all the cool people call her!) If you are ever in the Myrtle Beach area, your trip would not be complete without checking out an improv comedy show at Uptown.
