Several months ago this picture was posted on the Skin 2 Skin ™® Care Facebook page www.facebook.com/Skin2SkinCare. There are two things I believe we all fundamentally want; a balanced healthy lifestyle, and to age well which reinforces the significance and activity within the many Anti-Aging markets. This does not only relate to skin care, but other markets that involve fitness, lifestyle, stress and workload, spiritual pursuits such as Chakra balancing, meditation, ayurvedics, homeopathy; the list goes on. Stress can manifest itself in many ways in human physiology, create thyroid dysfunction, gastrointestinal problems i.e., ulcers, migraines, sleeplessness, high blood pressure, heart disease, accelerated aging and within the skin; acne, rosacea, eczema, wrinkles, fine lines, puffy eyes/dark circles, expression lines, etc. Stress affects the body, thoughts and behavior and more often than not, results in decreased activity and a compromised immune system.
So in this post, it was Ken Simpson our Founder suggestion and a great believer in this, that I write about one of the simplest ways to bring balance and less stress into your life to create more harmony, relaxation and lead the way to a healthier, more balanced, less stressful lifestyle. One of the simplest ways to help you stay focused and balanced, and organize “stress” or defer in this multi-tasking world in which we live, (where instant gratification is an expectation) emails/texts and demands are abundant and deadlines are endless, is to say the word, NO. NO is a very simple word, yet difficult to say and to practice. We often feel guilt, as if we must be agreeable and accommodating to others, on top of the expectations and demands we have placed on ourselves, and our obligations and expectations surrounding self.
I’d like share with you an article, that Ken sent to me on the 7 Reasons Why you should practice the word NO at least twice daily. It is an easy practice that you can enlist based on your priorities, your focus, beliefs, and desires for a healthy, happy life. We often try to juggle too many tasks, try to please, look for acceptance, when the most important element is to be true to self, and acceptance of self, and find balance. The benefits of saying NO: 1) politely is you will be better able to focus on the priorities, and make fewer mistakes. 2) You will gain wisdom, insight and become smarter by having the time to listen to others, reflect, learn, which feeds your soul and brain, especially important when saying NO to unimportant “stuff.” 3) People will respect you to a greater extent for setting your boundaries and limits, and are clear on your priorities. It provides relief, when you can verbalize what is essential in that moment, and sort a time to address other tasks at a later, more appropriate time. 4) You will be more relaxed especially when you are completed the necessary agenda items that matter to you, are important and what you love as well as enjoy. 5) When you say NO, it often empowers someone else with the task at hand, reassures them that you trust them, and teaches accountability. 6) You will find balance, protect “family time” and allow you to live, not just exist. 7) One of the most important, it protects the time allotted to yourself; to exercise, engage in Tai Chi, Yoga?, meditate, read, whatever it is that you choose to do in order to relax, find balance, and be true to self.
In brief, saying NO can be forgiving of time, and allow less stress
The Mandala below on Balance is the “happy guy” who appears quite content in his stance! Be that happy person; leaving time for what matters, prioritizing, less stress, and doing what you enjoy. It is well deserved, and the simple word NO can be the first starting point. There are products available, topically, that can address the signs of aging; anti aging, wrinkles, sagging skin, the dark circles and dark spots; 24/7 Rejuvenation, Aging Intervention, Un-Wrinkle Forehead and Crow’s-Feet, Revitalizing Eye Gel, Anti-Sagging Renewal Serum, and Photoaging Repair for the age spots, dark spots, and uneven skin tone. Similarly there are Rx, OTC and herbal products that can appease the systemic ailments as a result of imbalance and stress, with each come a reaction. The first action must come from within, and a change of behavior, in combination with both systemic, and topical treatments, and by treatment, I refer to good nourishment, healthy choices, and healthy behavior starting with you. As always we welcome comments, feedback, and your questions. To your good health!
